I know it is still early on, but are any of you applying to University of Hawaii's Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) for fall 2018?
What educational background is everyone coming from? Any health related experience?
For any previous students in this program, how is the first year of course work? Any advice for those planning on applying?
I'm considering applying for the Master of Science track in Advanced Population Health Nursing.
Thank you and good luck to everyone! :)

And yes from my understanding we could be going 6-7 days a week depending on class schedule and clinical schedule. So it seems like your winter break last year was similar to the universities winter break- it wasnt any special scheduling just for GEPN?Just looking for a clearer understanding before committing to the school.. so i appreciate your feedback!
Yea it should follow UH schedule. but just email them to make sure.

I'm very lost right now as I'm in my junior year and have decided that getting an MD is not my calling. I was wondering if you guys could tell me how competitive this program is. I really want to become a nurse, but I'm not sure if my personal stats would get me acceptance. I would appreciate any reply ? as I am VERY Lost
Hi Seth - I was in the same boat as you, discouraged as a pre-med feeling like it wasn't for me, and my undergrad GPA sucked as a result (<3.0). My master's GPA was better but not stellar, but my pre-req GPA was 4.0. I got in. Grades aren't everything... it's about your story and how you tell it. Def recommend attending an GEPN info session before you apply to gain insight on what's expected in the application, as well as the disqualifiers. And apply early since admissions are rolling! Feel free to PM me.
