UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2017

Published

I know I'm extremely early for this discussion but I'm considering on applying for the UH Manoa GEPN program for Fall 2017 (applications submission starts Sept 2016).

Anyone out there considering on applying next year also? If so what educational background/field of work are you coming from?

for existing mepn/gepn student section, do you have any advice for future applicants?

kateenschnarf,

Sorry to hear you weren't accepted! It's crazy how they didn't tell you specifically why you weren't competitive enough! What program did you apply for?

mursenary808,

I thought about the APHN track but I went with the AGCNS-MS track instead. That is where my heart led me :) good luck to you!

Notified in early November that I was placed on the list of alternates for the FNP track. Completed all prerequisites with A's.

Good luck everyone!

Hi all!

I submitted my application on (10/20), and was notified of my acceptance to the AGCNS track on (12/2) via email. For background, I will receive a BA in Economics with a minor in Public Health in May 2017. I have yet to complete the research prerequisite but I have completed the others with As.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

Kyapi,

Congrats to you! I have applied to that same track about a week after you did. Hopefully I will hear something soon!

Did anyone take the prerequisites online? Oh and did anyone have letters of recommendation?

No recommendation is required. I took all my prerequisites on campus. However, if I'm lucky enough to get accepted, I'll take the last one online , "research method" class.

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!

I'm a little late to this thread. I am applying to the AGCNS cohort.

Best of luck!

Hi guys!

I applied for AGCNS the week applications opened up and got notified of acceptance ending of October! Praying for everyone who hasn't heard back yet!

Hey guys!

Has anyone taken the A&P prereq classes online?

Hi jbugie!

i would recommend taking the course in class. The key to success is group study and consistent dialogue with the professor. It really helped me get an A to have friends to study with and discuss lecture. But everyone has different strengths and preferences. Good luck!
