I also have an architecture degree (worked for over three years now), but am starting a DNP-FNP program in the fall. A lot of people have a skewed perception of the architectural profession. Its not as glamorous as what the media shows, and the profession is evolving and making drastic changes...changes I do NOT want to be a part of. The only connection we have is with our computer screen 8+ hours a day, to name a few reasons why I want to get out. My cousin (an RN) initially told me to not even try, and now that I got accepted into the program she knows how serious I am about a career change and is more supportive. Anyone in a similar situation since the last 2014 post in this thread?

I am starting a DNP-FNP program in August and have a strong interest in women's health (thats what influenced me to make a career switch to nursing), but I'm not 100% sure if its really what I want to do. Is a specialized WHNP DNP program required to be able to practice/specialize in women's health, or does having a DNP-FNP degree allow this?

Hi all, Shannon confirmed that Fall 2016 GEPN students belong to Cohort 9.. The FB group is within the University of Hawaii page so I'm thinking that you need to join that page first with your @hawaii.edu email, and then you'd be able to search for UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 9 group? Please try it this way and let me know if it works! For those of you that already joined the group, do you have any suggestions?

I asked the GEPN coordinator via email and that was his response a week ago! I thought that was fairly quick to start accepting students. I'm so anxious to find out!

I know I'm extremely early for this discussion but I'm considering on applying for the UH Manoa GEPN program for Fall 2017 (applications submission starts Sept 2016). Anyone out there considering on applying next year also? If so what educational background/field of work are you coming from? for existing mepn/gepn student section, do you have any advice for future applicants?
