I am starting a thread for UFV, Sept 2013 applicants (thus the title)

I am a Jan 2013 reject and hoping for a spot in the fall. Is anyone here a repeat applicant?

Thanks Dragonflygrrl ! Just got home.

It was alright to say the least. A real eye opener of how harsh the competition is. There are about 200 complete applicants, only 60 people get interviews, and only 48 are accepted. So about a 1 in 4 chance. Crazy!

Did they say when they are mailing letters for the interview ?

Yes abby12, within the next couple weeks.

I assume they are going to wait until after the two info sessions next week.

I didn't hear how many applicants they were going to interview. Is it only 60?

Yes KimberS . They can't afford to interview any more than that because it would be real time consuming. Best of luck.

Wow, 200 applicants and 48 get in . Now im definitely nervous..

It wasn't really an essay. They were three completely different questions, with their own section to answer. So about a paragraph per question. They are testing your critical thinking skills, not why you want to be a nurse.

And yes, it really is about standing out. It's hard to though when everyone has kind of been in this waiting process and just about everyone has the same sort of grades and credits. It really comes down to one or two points and leaving out a lot of people who have the potential to be great nurses.
