UFV Sept 2013
Hi tonysn, We received our letters and I will be attending the orientation. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone :). I have a question regarding finding a volunteer pregnant lady. What would our options be if we are unable to find someone on our own ? I'm trying to find someone, but I'm gettin to the point where my resources may be exhausted soon and haven't found anyone yet. Any advice ? Thank you so much :)

UFV Sept 2013
You are not the only one still checking UFV obsessively ! Yeah.. I was also hoping that there might be some sort of delay in updating and that we still have a chance....I think I didn't quite want to believe that it's over and we didn't get in ...gotta dust myself off I guess and try again...really bummed though

Sprott Shaw, CDI College, Stenberg or keep trying to get into community college?
Thank you for the advice. :) These are great questions to ask them ! I have heard rumours also about thesame issues with Sprott Shaw and CDI so I was hoping someone that is currently attending might be able to shed some light. I don't want to just be able to say that I attended school, I really want to be a good nurse so if the schools are not providing a good education to their students (I think your suggestion of asking what the % that pass the CPRNE would probably answer this question) I wouldn't be interested in attending there.

Sprott Shaw, CDI College, Stenberg or keep trying to get into community college?
Hello everyone, I am hoping to get some advice from anyone on here that may have experience with the LPN programs at any private colleges in BC. I have been applying to the community colleges but with no luck so far. I have just received two rejection letters so now am thinking more about the private college route. I hadn't considered this before because of their very high tuition rates and wasn't sure if private colleges were viewed in the same way by potential employers. I don't wish to spend my time and money unwisely if it will not lead to potential job opportunities after graduation. I also want to receive a good education so that I can provide excellent care to my future patients ! Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

UFV Sept 2013
Hello everyone, New here on the forum and also applied to UFV for Sept 2013. I am going to the info session on the 12th and starting to freak out about it a bit...LOL ! Looking back at some of the previous intake posts, it seems like most people that got in last intake received their invite to the interview prior to the info session ? Hope that's not the case, because so far no interview letter for me... Anyone got their interview letter yet ?

Kwantlen or Douglas for Psychiatric Nursing?
I would speak to an academic advisor regarding entrance requirements. I just found out that for the RN program at Douglas there will no longer be preferential admission but I am not sure about the psych nursing program...

Admission requirements changes to Nursing program, Douglas College 2013 applicants
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I am currently completing pre-requisites for the nursing program at Douglas College in BC. I went this morning and completed the English assessment test, and thankfully I passed so I can now register for the College Level English class. I also met today with an academic advisor as I wanted to make sure I was on the right path to get accepted into the program. She advised me that Douglas college is revising the nursing program, so there will be no 2012 Winter intake for this program. The new program will be 3 years in lengh, however to be eligible to apply now, one must have 30 university/college credits so it's going to be quite similar to BCIT entrance requirements. They are also getting rid of the preferential admision criteria. They do have some specific credits that must be taken though(not just any 30 credits), she gave me a list of these. I just wanted to share this news with anyone out there that is in a similar situation like me and is working towards admission.
