UFV January 2016 Hopeful Applicants!

Published

Hey!

I am just finishing up my prereqs this semester and will have everything ready to go after I get my marks back from finals in a few weeks. I am excited/nervous! I am 24 and have been working at an eye surgery office for the past almost 4 years so have lots of hours to apply with. I feel old...! But I know in the big picture life is just beginning! Anybody else applying for the January 2016 intake? Or has anyone applied before and have any tips?

Thanks guys and good luck!! :)

I don't know yet, a lady from UFV is getting back to me tomorrow.

My average for all the four pre reqs is 83.25

I am not sure what that would equal out to in terms of GPA.

My average for all the four pre reqs is 83.25

Did you go to the info session? How many volunteer hours do you have?

Yes I have a total of 150 volunteer hours and submitted two reference letters.

But you haven't heard back yet for an interview?

Yes I was asked to set up a time. Do you know what gpa that would equal out to be?

Oh nice, congrats! No, I'm not sure. I was using the GPA calculator on the UFV website but it was giving me different numbers than the admissions department. I wasn't sure if my grades were high enough even with the correct english mark so that gives me some hope!

Hopefully you get called in for a intreview!

Was the admission ones giving you a lower gpa?

yes, admissions said my GPA was 3.46, but that was with the lower english mark. I believe my average with the lower grade was around 81.5ish. Thanks! I have my fingers crossed!

At the information session they had said that the cut off is 3.5 which works out to be 2 A's and 2 B's. All appliants with 16 and 14 points based on gpa are getting interviews first then applicants with 12 points.
