UFV Jan 2021 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello readers. Just curious if there is anyone out there whom is or has officially applied for the 2021 January intake for the BSN program @ UFV and what your experience has been thus far?

Me, I am working hard at my upgrades. I never thought I would be in my mid 30s and going back to Bio 12 and Chem 11 but here I am. I am working feverishly to get my classes done before Aug 15 as that is the last day your transcript has to be updated to meet the prerequisite requirements. I did and still do find this whole process overwhelming. When I met with the advisor at UFV she told me: English 12, Bio 12, Chem 11, and Math 11, come in with straight A's. I initially kind of thought, really??? Maybe I still do. I had a B+ in English 12. She recommended to pull that up to an A. So I am doing Chem 083 through UFV and Bio(now called Anatomy and Physiology) through online school district. I would be curious to hear if anyone else out there is considering or has applied and how your venture has been so far.

Take care!

Sorry were these references for your work experience? I didn’t see any spot on the forms for references other than this?

Yes, I had three references from my healthcare employers and one from my volunteering experience. The reference form is under additional documents on the UFV website. Did I go about this correctly?

Hi @Plumeria21,

You can definitely submit more than 2 references. It doesn't mention anywhere on the website a minimum/maximum number of references - I sent in 3. You should be fine with 2, but I don't think there's any harm in sending 1 or 2 more if that's what you want!

Can you provide the link of this form that gives the spots for references? Again clarifying this is the form for work experience?

Are you able to provide the link?

It is for work and volunteer experience! Your reference(s) fill this out and forward it to admissions. At least this is what I have been told to do!

Is there also anyone who has no volunteer experience because of this COVID? Also I am curious to know how many applicants are they accepting in Winter 2021 and average how many applicants apply?

Just trying to see if there are any chances of mine to accept.. lolz

Btw, I am applying with 3A+ and one B+.

I asked admissions about this and they encourage you to submit any volunteer experience you've done in the past. It doesn't have to be health related. If you haven't done any I recommend you email heath studies and ask if there are any other options for reference submissions. I've heard there are 30 seats for the Winter semester and there are usually 300-600 applicants but I am not sure if that is accurate its just what I've heard.

Yah it looks like they have relaxed what is required for volunteer hours. I have thousand of healthcare work experience hours so that’s good to have too. From my understanding intakes are 48 spots. 300-600 applicants seems a bit high overall as an estimate home many they get. All I’ve heard is it’s competitive.

Where did you hear that?

It's mentioned in the previous forums. Also while doing my prerequisites some students mentioned that Winter semester is harder to get into considering the limited number of seats

OK. I must’ve missed that. Well all we can do is hope we get in. I don’t want to be stressed all Summer thinking about it. I’ve got my courses done almost. It’s out of my hands. Just hope I am one of the very fortunate to get in.
