Ufv 2021 fall nursing

Published

Hey everyone,

This is a thread for everybody applying for the UFV Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program for the Fall (September) 2021 intake.

We can talk about our grades and GPA's, volunteer or work experience's, other schools we're applying to and so forth.

I submitted my application beginning of October when the applications opened up and applied with 3 A’s and 1 B in Pre calc 11. I also have about 800 hours at a hospital and 80 hours at a care home.

Good Luck everybody!

Hi! I’m applying with 3 A’s and 1 B. I have 100+ volunteer hours and I’m currently working at the hospital as a patient screener during the pandemic. Have you applied to any other schools?

Hey, I actually was at KPU initially and was going to finish my nursing program there but apparently they have a long waitlist even after you do the pre-reqs and have a good GPA like I heard u need almost a 4.0 to get into the actual nursing program. I heard of UFV’s nursing program recently and I’m sure it’s competitive as well but I’m hoping for the best. I haven’t heard back yet from them it just says “ready for review by program” on my file currently.

I was also going to KPU taking health foundations but I decided not to complete it! Did you take many of the courses in health foundations? My application also says ready for review by program! Do you have any idea when we would possibly hear about the next steps?

Hey,

I think there were about like 10 courses in the HEALTH FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM. I took like 7 and I literally only had 3 left and two of them were anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 so I took 1 but the lab was odd like if you accidentally did not pass the lab you automatically fail the class quiz although it was like different topics to be tested on. When I called UFV they said we’ll know if our application got accepted in February or March. And when we get accepted it’ll say something like conditional acceptance I think so we submit our other documents at that time.

hey guys,

I applied to UFV right out of high school for their Jan 2021 intake and I made it to the interview round but wasn't accepted because of its competitiveness.

I applied with A's in Bio 12, Chem 12, and Eng 12 and a B in Precalc 11. at the time I also had 150+ hospital volunteer hours from two different locations (one being a leadership position).

I'm in the process of upgrading my math in which I am projected to get an A and I also started volunteering at another hospital. While I wasn't accepted in the BSN program, UFV health sciences still let me take the anatomy and physiology 1 course so I'm hoping that that will have a positive effect on my chances of being accepted for Fall 2021!

Hi,

I also applied to UFV,  I only have 3As and 1B. I wish I upgraded my English to an A. I also have 200+ volunteer hours, and I'm currently working as a pharmacy assistant.

Hey guys! I’m applying as a first year student in science trying to switch programs to nursing for some context. My high school prereq grades were all As, I volunteered at a senior care home and am volunteering at a hospital RN for a total of around 160 hours at the time my reference was sent in. Because I am a science student I did take chem 113 and bio 111 first semester so I’m unsure which marks they will use for admissions but I got an A- and A respectively. Currently taking engl psych and stats to get the electives out of the way while I wait for admissions. Good luck everyone!

Hey guys, just checking in with everybody has anyone heard back from UFV? My application still says “ready for review by program”.

mine does as well

Hey y'all,

for the Winter intake, the applications were due Aug 15 and then they didn't send out invites for the info/essay session until Sept 29 so its a bit of a waiting game
