UFL BSN to DNP Program -- How much can I work during school?

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be starting UFL's BSN to DNP program in the Fall! I'm very excited. I have a coworker who is currently close to completing the program and she works PRN, right now about one day a week. She has told me that the preceptors are very unpredictable with your clinical hours, and I won't be able to regularly schedule myself for a particular day of the week so working a lot isn't really feasible.

I'd appreciate any insight from anyone who has completed or is currently in UFL's DNP program, or anyone who might have insight. I'm just trying to figure out how much I'll be able to work during the program. I don't have kids, or any real obligations other than work/school. I currently work 3-11 Mon-Thurs, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to switch to PRN and have a more flexible schedule once clinical starts.

I don't attend UFL, but I am enrolled to start as a full-time student this fall for my program. I will also be working full-time (30 hours, 6a-5p), M-Wed. So, I'll have Thurs-Sunday for clinical. The clinic I am going to pursue has weekend hours, so that would be perfect if I get in! If your programs allows weekend hours that could be an option for you.

I plan to keep this schedule until my last semester which consists of 250 clinical hours that has to be completed in a summer (2-month) semester.

Good Luck!
