Hey all, anyone applying for PMHNP program or know of anyone who has gone through the program? I can't find much on the stats for the program from previous students.
thank you!

Hello first off congratulations! I am a prospective student looking to apply in the next two years. Would you mind sharing your stats? My ASN GPA was 3.45 so I hope to get a 4.0 in my BSN along with joining a hospital committee as well. I am a new grad working on a PCU step down unit. Thank you!

Hey there. Thanks for reaching out regarding your future endeavors. I don't think GPA/grades are all that matter to the UF program. They attempt a holistic approach to the application process. They required 10 essays listing nursing experience, volunteerism, leadership roles, scholarly activities, statements of goals, and overall what you as an individual can uniquely bring to the college of nursing.
Personally, I finished with a 3.78 GPA for a bachelors in psychology from USF. I then attended UF's ABSN program and finished with a 3.58 GPA. From there I have been working 3 years as an ICU nurse, most recently in the Neuro ICU. My application included two attending MD recommendations, an acute care NP recommendation, and a nursing instructor recommendation. I figure I may have had points docked off because I am not currently working in the field I applied to. However, neuro patients are often very impulse/frontal-lobe-impaired/delusional/delirious, and I emphasized that in my application.
I hope this helped, and the best of luck to you!
