UF BSN to DNP 2017

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Starting a thread for those applying to the BSN to DNP program at UF for Fall 2017!

I have my BS in Psychology from UF, and will be finishing up my RN to BSN at UF in August. Currently, I have a little over 1 year of experience as a Critical Care nurse.

I'll be applying for the Psychiatric-Mental Health track. :)

Does anyone know if they happen to accept GRE scores that are over 5 years old? I know the scores typically expire after that time. I took it 6 years ago and got a pretty decent score, so I would LOVE to not have to study for it again!

Looking forward to everyone's responses!!!! :)

Ok that's not bad. The forum for last year shows the Family Nurse Practitioner track received acceptance in mid May.

Ok that's not too bad. Hope it's tomorrow then!

Anyone hear back that applied for the family dnp track?

Not yet. I called and they said either this week or next.

I was accepted into pediatric primary care part time

Is the program primarily online or in class? What was ur gpa?

Most is online it looks like. Some classes have about 6 days of seated lab/lecture. But looks like the first year is strictly online for the full time track. My GPA for BSN is 3.8. Scored a little higher than their GRE minimum requirement. Can't remember GRE off top of head but wasn't impressive. They have contracts with hospitals for clinical which is really appealing as well. Some of my friends have the hardest time finding preceptors it seems like. I like that there are days you have to go to school for seated learning, the brick and mortar learning makes the education experience more legitimate in my opinion. Orientation is in a month so we will learn more.

Specializes in Cardiology, ICU.

Have you all started classes yet? I am looking to apply to the acute care program and am very curious about the class formats.

Specializes in Psychiatry.

Bump. Any information on the BSN-DNP PMHNP experience at UF? It's all online but with some visits to the campus now and again?

We are in our first semester. I'm part time so i do not take any psych classes for the first year and a half - two years. So far it's going well, no complaints. Only a couple visits to the campus planned - orientation, health assessment, and before we start clinical s

maggiemaex313, do you mind if i PM you with some questions about the program and specialty? :)

Hello. I'm in the process of applying for uf bsn to dnp family np track for fall 2018. I just took gre and did not do well. I have a 3.5 gpa for my nursing gpa. And my experience is 1year in cardiac icu at Tampa general hospital. I'm hoping they will still consider me. Anyone get accepted into the Family np tack? Is it very competitive? How is the program?
