UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Published

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

Did you email him today?

THey are normally sent out in the evening at about 4 . Last year decisions were received around 3:00 pm .

Did you email him today?

I e-mailed him Saturday night, and he replied this morning.

I e-mailed Kenneth asking him about the results before I read on this thread that a current student claimed they were told the results were coming out today.

This is a direct quote from his email reply:

"Decisions will be released by next Wednesday. Thanks for the inquiry!"

So we may have to wait until Wednesday.

Do you mean next Wednesday or this week?

Does anyone know the nursing college at UF's policy about social media? I've been trolling social media to see if there were current students online and haven't found anything. I found that sort of odd that no one was online, so I'm wondering if they have rules against it.

Ahh this is so tough!! Wait so next Wednesday as in Wednesday 2/21 or Wednesday 2/28?

He didn't specify, but I'm assuming the 21st.

I'm assuming that's the standard response that they give everyone and that they're referring to the last day of the month, Wednesday 2/28. That's when they originally said decisions would be out and they're probably trying to cut down on the phone calls and emails they get by sticking to the original statement!

I was holding out on applying to the traditional program (deadline March 1st) because I wanted to see whether or not I would be accepted into the accelerated program, but I might go ahead and submit if we will have to wait until February 28th.

Current student here - they don't have a policy against the use of social media (just to be smart about it and remember you're representing the college), and in fact each cohort has a private Facebook group. For the GNV cohort that graduates this summer, we had to change it to "secret" because there were a lot of random folks trying to request access to it, so I am not surprised that you weren't able to find anything.

Regarding the time of day decisions came out, I didn't receive mine until about 5ish last year. Which, incidentally, was a letter of rejection - and I'm now six months away from graduating! It just goes to show that things work out the way they're supposed to in the end, so stay positive and don't give up. Good luck to you all!

Current students-

so you heard this in class that we would find out today?? Just nervous It won't be today! Fingers crossed

So how did you get in if you received a letter of rejection? Also, what can you tell us about the program itself? What's the course load like, etc?
