UF ABSN 2023

Published

Hello guys, I'm a prospective applicant to the above program and wanted to create a place for us to come together and discuss any concerns we might have. I am applying to the Gainesville campus and have a 3.6 undergraduate GPA along with a 94.8% overall HESI score. I earned a B.S. in Psychology from UF and wanted to pursue a career in research in this field. It did not take long for me to realize that medicine and helping others was my true passion. Best of luck to you all!

Does anyone know when they releases decisions? I just submitted my application. Is is one decision date or like a rolling basis?

Historically, the decisions were released in late February. Assuming the extra time added for applicants does not interfere, I would expect that to be the case for this cycle.

How is everyone feeling now that the deadline has passed? Anyone else apply for the Jacksonville location?

Not sure because past threads on here people with perfect scores, backgrounds, etc were denied while others who have zero health are experience and subpar scores/GPA were picked. I’m in the middle of all of that….so who knows.

Anyone else super nervous? These next few months are going to be nerve racking ?

Really? Now I’m worried. My cum GPA is 3.95 and pre-req is 4.0. Got a 96 on HESI with 930CT. I don’t have health care experience. I’m changing careers. Why would high scores be bad?

Not saying high scores are bad. Just saying that on the thread for UF ABSN 2022 cohort…close to the last postings one chick said she didn’t get in and asked the state of another who got in…and they were subpar vs the stats of the chick who was denied. Something about “not holistic enough”.

It sounds like they heavily weigh the essays and letters of recommendation.

Does anyone know anything about the class size for Gainsville and Jacksonville? How many apply vs get in?

Has anyone received any kind of confirmation from the College of Nursing that they received all our application materials and that we’re being considered for admission? I got a confirmations for the post-bacc application, the NursingCAS app, and the HESI exam each separately, but I wasn’t sure if they would send something else to all the applicants confirming our eligibility.

I have the same emails. No, I have not received anything. I did reach out to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to confirm she had everything.

I haven’t received any confirmations or emails since completing the application. From whom did you receive the emails?
