Hey guys! I couldn’t find a thread for those applying for UF’s ABSN program in Summer 2022! I was thinking we could have a thread to support each other and share our thoughts!
I haven’t been able to find much on those admitted to UF’s ABSN program, but I found some things out when I emailed them! Their holistic approach worries me a bit since I feel like I am not well rounded, especially in the medical field. I’m really worried due to having 4 medical drops though if anyone knows how they handle those!
A little bit about me, I’m a senior currently attending UF in my last semester. I’m only taking anatomy and developmental psychology to finish out my prereqs for the program. My upper division GPA is decent at a 3.64 and my overall GPA is a little lower at 3.62. My prereq GPA is really good though at 3.86, but I’ll see how the two I have left affect it.
Has anyone even been able to touch the HESI though? I emailed when we were supposed to be able to register with UF and they said they had an issue with connecting to the Evolve portal. It’s still down and I’m getting even more nervous.
If anyone wants to ask questions, share thoughts, encourage each other, give advice, anything, I figured this thread might be a good place for us to start!!
Okay, so a week and some change. Which campus did you apply to? I applied to Jax.
No, I just looked at the email. I was notified with the first round and that was March 10th. It was a Wednesday at 3:45 PM. That’s not the usual though for the program. Kianna was in maternity leave and Ken was handling the ABSN and BSN. They had some sort of delay with the applications too. NORMALLY, It’s on a Friday in the afternoon and they send all letters at once, no matter the campus . It should be this Friday or next Friday (most likely next).

I applied to Gainesville, but now I’m wishing that I would have checked “no preference”.

That’s right! I had completely forgotten about that.
Why is that? Just curious. I wonder if I should have selected no preference but I am staying hopeful about getting accepted into the Gainesville campus

From what I understand, since you have the chance to get into one of two campuses, it’s a higher chance compared to just one campus. I personally put Gainesville as my preference since my husband is already an UFHealth IT employee. Gainesville has a larger cohort if I remember correctly. In the end, I don’t think it affects it too much though. Definitely stay hopeful regardless!!
I got so excited yesterday because Class of 2026 decisions came out for the new undergrads and thought that meant we would get ours too. Hopefully only one more week though!

I could just be really overthinking things but I randomly went to check my post-bacc application status and it is saying I submitted it 12/2/2021??? I know for a fact that I submitted it before the deadline for applications and I received the "all documents have been received email" so I should be fine right?? IDK I'm definitely overthinking this but also freaking out at the same time because I know I submitted it before 12/2!! The only reason I'm freaking is that they said anything submitted after the deadline will result in us not being considered for the program. please tell me I'm just going crazy LOL

I think you’re totally fine!! It was my understanding that email was a “you’re eligible for consideration” email. You’re getting in!! ?
@gogators19 I feel for you, because I too am going crazy. It’s so easy to start overthinking things, but hopefully there is no need. I agree with what Sierra said, have comfort in the email regarding all materials being received. I wish I could be more help. Only a couple more days.
