So I took the UExcel English 110 test this morning and to my surprise I got a B! That was such a relief. Now I am going to focus on the rest of my nursing tests. It feels like I could be getting close to the light at the end of the tunnel. I believe I can see it there off in the distance.

Good Luck to everyone else studying through Excelsior, make 2011 the year of YOUR RN.

Congrats!! The light is some where around.. Mine is sort of dim lately... Maybe 2012....

Congrats!! I need English also. I am finished with my nursing tests. Waiting to get my FCCA stuff. How does Uexcel work? How do you study for it? I understand the site but clueless how to study for this kind of test. What did you do for info/ lit also? Any tips much appreciated:) Thank you

To anjule18: I went on the UExcel website, signed up for the test and scheduled it at Pearsonvue, then I ordered the study guide and recommended books. I really only used the study guide though, the books were overkill for me. I have not taken info/lit yet - not looking forward to that. lol I am concentrating on Ethics in America at the moment - I want to take it at the end of this month. Good Luck to you!

Thank you very much!! So the study guide is enough for me to pass, that's so good to know!! I will be signing up for that now. Good luck to you also!!!!

Yep, I think so. Like I said everything else was just overkill. As long as you can write an essay off the top of your head and keep it organized you should do great, keep us posted.

@mikesgirl1, sometimes if the interactive computer grading system has a hard time grading your work it will be forwarded to a professor who reads it and grades it. I read that it happens sometimes and I don't think you should worry, I am sure you did fine.

@mrstookielpn, Good luck to you, I was super nervous and I was certain that I wouldn't pass, but thank God I did. You will do great!

@pfeef21, thanks so much for the encouragement! I cannot believe I stressed that test thinking I failed.... I got an A, just found out.I guess I stressed because I went in completely cold and blind to that bad boy haha and um did I mention I canttttttttttt type and am just now at 29 learning to use a computer! So to anyone out there this test is almost a joke I highly doubt anyone fails that one, so no one need worry ok! After all if we can do this nursing business we must be smart eh? Good luck to all the people out there on this courageous journey!

@mikesgirl1 - I went online and got the number to Penn Foster, called them and set up the online test. They r very helpful on the phone. I signed up at lunch and was completed the whole thing including the test by bedtime.

Be sure and call the Penn Foster Workforce Developement phone number though. I called the regular Penn Foster number 3 different times over the course of 2 weeks and they had no idea what I was talking about! I finally found the Workforce Development section and called them. The lady knew right away what I needed!
