Hey there,
Just wanted to start a thread on students applying to UCSF NP programs for 2020. I'd love to know what program you applied to and any updates on acceptance letters or any communications made by the University.
About me. I applied to the PMHNP program. I am an ED nurse but I have always enjoyed mental health. I applied and haven't heard anything at this time, however, from previous years, the letters start rolling in around the end of March.
Keep me posted,
Samuel

CONGRATS to you! I’m sure you are feeling great and also feeling anxious to start this part of your career. I am still waiting for a call back or email from admissions. I’m guessing I did not get in but there’s always other schools so I will continue to seek admission somewhere. Best of luck.

Hi guys,
I applied to PMHNP Program and had my interview the second week of March. The person who interviewed me said last day of interviews was April 2 and they’ll roll out decisions second week of April or so, but “don’t quote me on that” so not sure how accurate that information is.
best of luck

Update: just got my acceptance today!
I have two years of experience working inpatient psych and two years in emergency psychiatry in mental health hospitals around the Bay Area. I’m also board certified in psychiatry and my GPA was a 3.51 in nursing school, but I don’t think either of those really matter.
Your letters of recommendations matter. They also absolutely read your statement letters so think wisely of why you want to enter this specific profession and this specific school. I think those two are probably the two most important things because they really want to know you as a person and where your values and goals are.
