UCSF New Grad Spring 2022

Updated:   Published

Hi all! Thought I would start this thread for the upcoming new grad cohort at UCSF for Spring 2022.

From what I've seen on the website, the application period opens on Saturday, January 8 and goes until Saturday, January 15. No lists of which departments are hiring this go around. Must have your license by March 4th. The program starts on April 4th.

I applied last go around, but I didn't have a test date yet. Hoping I can get in this time!

Good luck to all!

Hi! I missed a call last Friday while I was at work from the assistant manager from neuro ICU to set up an interview for this week, called right him back when I got off and expressed my interest. Didn't receive a call back and followed up again this week but still haven't heard anything. Any advice or insight? Or did I miss my chance? ? TY in advance

I think you did what you could by following up a second time. That is very unprofessional of the assistant manager, to be honest. Maybe that’s not the best unit to work on as a new grad if communication is dropped like that? I don’t know, that’s kind of how I would look at it. It is a competitive new grad program but I also think candidates should be treated with professionalism from the management as well.

Hey @ElisaS

how did you interview with the Peds ED go? Any tips you can give me for mine tomorrow? (If you don’t mind)

Specializes in Primary Care.

Just out of curiosity, how many people on our thread here have gotten offers already? Someone I know reached out to someone who is leading (?) the New Grad program and he said they wanted to try to get offers out ASAP to ease New Grad anxiety. My reply to my source was "they're not doing a very good job of that!" LOL. This was last week. If you got an offer, what department was it? Anyone know of the breakdown of how many are hiring in each department? TIA!

I would love to know this too! all I know is that the cardiac ICU has 2 openings. not sure about other units.

I agree. That seems quite odd that you haven't heard back yet. Have you tried contacting HR? Just so they could clarify for you in the unit is still interested you or if they can reach out to the manager (not the assistant).

Peds Cardiac TCU is taking 1-2

@NurseKayeBSNtoMSN The only units I know of as far as how many they are taking are a couple of the peds- peds ED is taking 2 and PCICU is taking 4-6. PCICU should have decisions anytime between today and Monday. I am not sure on the others. I am curious if there are still units reaching out or if all have already done so and are interviewing

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew how many spots they had for the adult ED?

@Am1240 Have you heard back from the PCICU?

Adult Acute sent an email today for an interview.

I honestly did not even look at it this way, but you're right. I'm thinking they are probably swamped with the amount of applicants they got, but yeah, being acknowledged after following up with them would be nice

I have not reached out to HR but thank you for suggesting that!
