UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Updated:   Published

Hello all,

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

I wonder how many candidates they are hiring this cohort ? does anyone know specific number of candidates UCSF plan to hire from this cohort?

I know stanford was around 100-125 candidates out of 320 total interviewees and 1k application

I think they said around 85-100? Remember hearing that somewhere, but not sure.

Thank you! I was expecting about 100 too but I felt like I seen it somewhere saying that it really depends on the unit need so I kinda wanted to make sure. I think 100 is a fair number

I was wondering the same thing. My bet would be that they hire 100+ since its both pediatric and adult specialties. also I remember reading somewhere that mew grads will have to be flexible to whatever campus they are assigned to. So there are multiple hospitals.
side note, I know that multiple candidates did not show up for they interview for whatever reason. I am thinking that those people got hired already somewhere else, and it increases chances for others.

True. Even for my initial interview we were supposed to be 3 candidates and 2 HR but only 2 candidates(including myself) showed up. So they must have either tapped out or accepted offer from somewhere else. It is good to know that multiple hospital locations are participating!

I remember thinking this too! I watched the video of the info webinar and I think Aine said typically in the 60s or 70s. But yeah it depends on the need.
