@ rhnovak - Definitely give your recommenders a reminder. I gave my recommenders a reminder at the 2 month and 2 week marks. So if you have someone you really want as your recommender then just send them a gentle reminder if you haven't done so recently.

Yup, all my recommendations are complete but I haven't seen anything for my transcripts yet even though I did receive a confirmation that UCSF opened the e-transcript for one of my undergrad institutions but I don't see it as confirmed in the system yet.

Nice work on getting all the recommendations in, that must be a relief! I'm not too worried about two of my recommenders; I'm in pretty close ongoing contact with them and I know where they are on their letters- in one case she's just now doing it because I was finishing some work for her that I wanted included in her recommendation. The last one I don't want to nag, but I'll probably send him a note at the end of the week if I haven't heard an update from him.

As for your transcripts, I'm assuming someone has to manually enter them once received and I'm sure they're busy at the moment! But has it been a long time since the receipt? If so you might double check they didn't get buried in someone's emails- I was surprised at how quickly mine were received and uploaded (I requested paper transcripts less than a week ago and they are already uploaded to my application).

I probably need to follow up with Steven since he received and opened it on July 23rd for the first set I sent. The others were mailed on Aug 16th and later so it might take another few days since these were mailed paper transcripts but if the turnaround is 7 days for paper transcripts then my e-transcripts should have been processed. Will double check. Thanks for heads up.

Hi @TangoDeux, quick question- how were you able to replace a previously uploaded document? I uploaded my personal history statement as a pdf, and want to replace it but don't see any way to do so. Thanks!

edit:

Oh never mind, I got it :)

@TangoDeux I finally worked up the courage to submit my app 2 weeks ago! It seems that every time I made changes to my personal and goal statement, I preferred what I originally wrote. So I stopped making changes and finally submitted. I haven't looked at it since, in fear that I will regret something I wrote lol. So best of luck to everybody and try to enjoy the rest of summer :)

Okay my application has been submitted and is now complete. I got the e-mail that said it is now being reviewed by the admissions committee. @abbybetty - I finally just hit the submit button like you said, I was agonizing over my adjective choices, that was when I knew it was time to submit the application lol. Now we wait.... Good luck to everyone that is about to submit their applications as well!

Congratulations! I'm at the point where I just keep re-formatting the top of my resume, so I think it's time to upload that and start in on the goal statement.

What format did people use to submit transcripts? If electronic what address did you send them to?

Thanks!

It depends on the school(s) that you attended and whether they opted for the ability to send electronic transcripts. For me, the ones that didn't, I sent via snail mail to the Koret Way address on the website that receives our paper transcripts. For my electronic transcripts, I called and asked SJ and he said to have them sent directly to his email address from your institution and he then helped me upload them into my application and changed my status to complete once all my transcripts were received. Hope that helps!

I did paper because that's what I had an address for, and I was trying not to bother SJ with any more questions :) I think either way is fine; I was a little worried about paper being slow or getting lost, but they were received and uploaded very quickly.

Thank you @TangoDeux for organizing this thread! Good luck to all and don't wait for the last minute to submit your application.

I like my goal statement but I keep shaving away at it and it's still four lines over two pages. One place online says no more than two pages, another says approximately two. Did you all limit yourselves to two to be safe?

My goal statement is exactly two pages as is my personal statement.
