A place for individuals applying to the UCSF 2018 MEPN program to contact each other, share information, support each other, and provide advice.

I received the same. Quite the bummer. I'm considering reapplying.

Same :(

did you guys apply anywhere else? I also applied to UC Davis, Unv SD and UCLA, but now I'm not feeling so confident about it :(

I have applied to Samuel Merritt, Simmons (Boston), OHSU (Portland), and am currently working on my SFSU application.

Don't let this affect your confidence! We all have a chance. It is also not unheard of for applicants to apply multiple times to UCSF's MEPN program and get accepted the second or third time around.

I'm sorry you weren't invited to interview, @endodiabpnp. :( I wish you the very best with the applications that you've submitted to other nursing schools. And you're totally right! There are many who apply more than once to UCSF and get accepted the second time around not just for MEPN, but for the MS programs, too. If UCSF is the school for you, never give up!

Thank you! I am definitely going to reapply... UCSF just has everything I want and it's catering to the people I want to work for in the future. Hopefully, I can make it the second time around.

As for the other schools, I'll have some heavy considering to do.

I know how you feel. I'm happy to help if I'm selected for admission this coming year and you reapply. Please feel free to reach out to me if that's the case.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your lending hand for the future.

Hi!

Long time lurker here. I just received my invitation for an interview (dated 12/1 and received 12/4) on 1/26 for the AGPCNP specialty. I live in the area so I am not sure if that helped with the quick turn around or not. I am looking forward to meeting you all! This has been quite the process and I just want to congratulate everyone for getting to where you are today. Thank you all for putting yourself out there and sharing your experiences. I wish everyone the best of luck and know that, regardless of what happens this round, we will all get to where we want to be. The journey may be different for everyone so please do not give up!

Well said! Congratulations!!

Hello yawp! I am in the same boat with you, but ultimately I decided to go with SFSU (I was there with you on orientation day). There's no guarantee of acceptance if you wait for UCSF, but in my case I have a great feeling that I would get accepted since I am a second time applicant (I interviewed last year as well). However, in my case, I went with SFSU for BSN and hopefully return to UCSF to get nurse practitioner certification. I decided I need to start the engine and get to the finish line and become a nurse, then decide what to do next after that. Good luck with your decision.

Congrats @rawallace! Even thought we won't be in the same program the UCSF, CCSF, SFSU, and USF nursing students all run into each other at all the local hospitals since clinicals overlap sometimes. I just saw the SFSU students and preceptor in the morning shift while the CCSF students came in for the afternoon shift with their preceptor when I volunteered last on Tuesday at one of the local hospitals. Perhaps I will get a chance to meet you during clinicals as we rotate around the different hospitals and specialities if I get an acceptance into UCSF's program.

Good luck with everything!

Looking forward to hearing how everyone is prepping for interviews
