Hey everyone! Given that applications are due a month from today, I figured it was about time to start a thread. How are everyone's personal statements and applications coming?
ToFNPandBeyond, thank you for that very helpful advice! I hope to eventually work in an outpatient oncology clinic as an NP, and I believe both acute care and primary care specialties would provide a good foundation for that setting. My reason for considering acute care is that i wanted to have a solid understanding of critical care in order to better attend to the more acute needs of oncology patients. I guess I should direct these questions to a faculty member?
Can you let me know what you discover if/when you talk to a faculty member? I'm in a similar boat and would love to know what you discover. Thanks!
To meangreenbean and Rooster825,
Not within your specialty, but Penn is also on my radar. A current Penn student said that F.C. can put you in touch with some student who was making the same decision as you. Might be good to get a student opinion.
I haven't paid much attention to this forum until recently, but I'm emerging from the LURKER depths. Congrats to those who are in - all the hard work has paid off =) As a person on the waitlist, I'm wondering what you all have as a deadline to submit your decisions? This process seems endless but I am still hopeful!
Some people received notifications stating that the deadline to make a decision for admissions is on February 22nd, while others have stated in their letters for March 7th (I know...confusing). In either case, the deadline for decisions is soon so hopefully you'll know the outcome for yourself sooner than later!!
I am also waiting on OHSU! Do you have any sense of which program you prefer? I can't seem to make up my mind...
Good luck!

Hi Kdiem,
I remember you saying that you are in the midwifery/WHNP track. Would you be willing to talk sometime? I was just accepted into that track (through the MEPN program) and would love to learn more about the program. I have tried calling a few staff members, but no one is really giving me much info. I adore UCSF but feel like I don't know much about the actual masters program.
Thank you for all your support on this board!
