2014 UCSF MEPN Applicants

Hey everyone! Given that applications are due a month from today, I figured it was about time to start a thread. How are everyone's personal statements and applications coming?

Has anyone (lurkers, I'm talking to you too!) talked to admissions today? I'm tempted to call..

I called the office earlier this week, and the woman who answered the phone said we'll hear about MEPN decisions next week. She didn't sound convincing to me. lol. because, at first she said we'll hear back in April, then she had to put the phone down and ask someone else in the office. So, I don't know if they were just guessing that decisions will come out next week.

So I just called the admissions committee. The woman whom I spoke to said that the admissions committee just met yesterday, and that these things take time. She told me that we should expect to hear from them in MARCH!!!!. Well, I just about collapsed lol. I asked her if she knew when in March, and she said no. I don't know what to believe anymore. I just sent an email to SJ, the main contact person for UCSF MEPN, so hopefully we'll get some clarity with him. I just don't want to believe we have to wait even longer to hear back, especially since other schools have notified us already:banghead:

I'd like to believe the person on the phone didn't know what they were talking about. Thank you for calling btw. I remember asking SJ the day of interviews and he said by March but he would try to make it happen earlier. That being said, I think he's really the one who knows.

I mean the program starts in June. I live in Oakland so at least I'm not moving across the country. But finding housing in Sf and taking care of all the odds and ends takes time. GRRRRRR

Hi all,

I emailed with SJ earlier this week and he said they would be sending out notifications as soon as possible after the faculty meeting (which was yesterday). Let's keep in mind that the office has to put together responses for over 100 interviewees and I'm sure this isn't a one day task!

Does anyone know if the notification will be via email, mail or phone call? Best of luck to everyone and enjoy the long weekend!
