Hi everyone! Just thought I would start a forum for those who applied to the UCSD New Grad position for this upcoming March. Leave a comment if you applied!

Hi! Has anyone heard back from any of the adult ICUs?

Any updates on this?

One of the directors of the new grad program told me all departments have until Friday to get back to all of the candidates. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if UCSD accepts an online ACLS cert or have recommendations for where to get one? I'm having trouble finding in-person courses in the area

They do not accept completely online certs! Are you looking in the SD area? NEO is a pretty good organization (Nursing Education Opportunities)

you could try seeing if they have availability :)

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone knows the date of the next application period? They said in the webinar that applications would come out in March for an August start date, but maybe someone can confirm actual dates? TIA!

Hi Donna Franco, yes I also heard March/April apps begin. I'll let you know a better idea once I found out more

Hi Donna Franco and clatchRN, unfortunately I am not able to private message you both. So on the website I now see they posted their webinar info for next Wednesday March 8th.

On Google go to ucsd new grad employment, "search all jobs", type in "new grad nurse", and select "most relevant" on the boxes on right side. You'll see the webinar application. I'm confused because it says to not apply to the posting as it is just an announcement, so maybe we click on the link that says "click here" on Wednesday 8th to join? seems we don't sign up early.

I'm waiting to hear back about their application opening date. On the website webinar posting it now says cohort postings will start on March 15th.

For anyone starting the orientation on Friday, does anyone know if we are supposed to wear business casual or scrubs on the first day? Also, did everyone get their schedule for the unit?

You can wear either! I am personally going to wear scrubs...more comfortable ha! And not yet. I know one person who got theirs but I'm guessing we will get them this coming week hopefully ?

Did they get scheduled on unit right away?

Just wondering how long we might expect to wait before starting on the floor :)

No, I think they start to precept on their unit around March 20. I heard that new grads usually will start on the unit though around 2-3 weeks after the orientation.
