Also, It just seems odd that schools are involved before the actual candidates. My school has no relationship to UC so there's no way for me to get such formal notice. So I guess I'll wait like the rest of the candidates that were referred, I mean it is a huge bummer if the rumors are true, and believe me I will update the threat as soon as I know more, but as stated, I'm choosing to remain positive.

I've been in the UC system for the past 10 years and very familiar with both Hillcrest and La Jolla. I am also staying positive because from what I was told if a unit has enough budget and the freeze is lifted they will hire but if they don't then they will be canceled. The only reason I posted was to give others ease that its on hold because of the freeze but still possibilities of getting an interview. So yes to everyone that applied stay positive but be patient and don't get discouraged.

Great! Then I'm sure you understand how UC Health operates as a different entity and it actually is included in the exception of the freeze. I did email HR letting them know about these rumors. So I'll hopefully have an official response in the next 1-3 business days. I do have a friend that was my charge and manager, and reached out to very a managing director and said that the new grad is actually happened 🙂 but until confirmed by HR I still hold that as a rumor as well.

I got an official reply from UCSD HR and Talent acquisition. And I am very happy with it ☺️ not sure how that fits into the other email that people claim to have received, but this is verifiable and sounds more like UC, not grammar or misspelling errors, and very professional. So I guess we just have to wait and see 🙂 again good luck to all.

I was about to post it. Received all the emails for the positions. But let's not get discouraged! It just means we have one more month to spruce up our resumes! Good luck everyone.

I also was told that. But they did say that if the unit had enough budget they would get approved for one new grad spot.

It's official guys. November cohort will not happen. Good luck to yall! We might have to start somewhere else but after 6 months you're eligible to apply to staff positions. Good luck!
