Congrats on getting an interview. Did they ask any scenario questions or just basic interview questions?

I also was told that. But they did say that if the unit had enough budget they would get approved for one new grad spot.

I just received an email yesterday it looks like only Sharp Memorial and Sharp Mesa Vista are hiring in fall.

I havent. Nor have I heard from NICU. But whats weird is that the fall cohort forum is tomorrow and applications open up soon so Im scared we won't be able to apply for fall but hoping we can. Staying positive.

Stay positive you never know. And the way I see it is they know we are new and will most likely be nervous. ??

I've been in the UC system for the past 10 years and very familiar with both Hillcrest and La Jolla. I am also staying positive because from what I was told if a unit has enough budget and the freeze is lifted they will hire but if they don't then they will be canceled. The only reason I posted was to give others ease that its on hold because of the freeze but still possibilities of getting an interview. So yes to everyone that applied stay positive but be patient and don't get discouraged.

Hi to all, uCSD had an update and it sounds like they might be cancelling the new grad residency for August because of funding. The freeze is in place and it does affect the new grad positions. Confirmed by upper management today.

I think it means it's just a freeze until they figure out their financial situation. And no I don't know when, But I can try and ask on Monday if I see her.

From what the unit manager said I believe it does. They were in meetings all last week and when I asked she said it's the main reason why they haven't done interviews. But who knows that's just what I was told.

Some examples are why scripps, tell us about a time you advocated for a patient, one thing that stood out during clinicals, and issue with a coworker, about culture and compassion, what was your biggest accomplishment during nursing school. I was told that questions vary.

Just FYI. UCSD is currently on a hiring freeze. I spoke to a manager this week and they basically said to not get discouraged and to be patient until the freeze is lifted. Im hoping they lift it soon!
