UCSD New Grad Residency August 2023

Hello everyone! Just thought I would start this thread for those applying to UCSD's new grad residency program starting this August! I know the job listing should be posted within the next week or so (:

Also wondering if anyone knows anything about JMC 5FG med/onc PCU or 4FGH surg/onc PCU? Is there somewhere I can find a description of the units/ patient population? I was trying to Google but nothing was coming up really. 

Last question- how long will the application be open for?

hi I saw u had pcu/ICU interview! do u know if u have to fill out a reference thing on skill survey for each position? I have only been sent out one.

I had the same question but I emailed the recruiter and they said you don't, the references count for all positions ?

I'm not interviewing till next week but I'm pretty sure it's a panel with all the ICUs? I was sent an email with info on JMC 3F neuro ICU, Hillcrest SICU, and JMC 3GH. I hope it's not just one of them and I totally missed that important piece LOL

I know two people from my class that got a call and interviewed this week via zoom however, they had clinicals there so I guess it helped.

Anyone else just get an email for PCU preferences? I had my interview on Monday. I hope getting this email is a good sign LOL

Congratulations! I would take that as a good sign. Was your interview in person or virtual?

And what do you mean by preferences? Like which unit is your top choice?

I had an in person interview. The email states "if you are selected..” but I'm hoping for the best! And Yes, it told me to rank my top 5 out of the 9 units.

I got the same email. out of curiosity, what were your top 5 preferences?
