UCSD January 2011 New Grad Program

Published

Hallo Nurses!

I just applied to the UCSD RN New Grad program and wanted to connect with other nurses who have done the same. I have sent out so many applications and haven't gotten anything yet so am hoping this is it! Good luck us all! Anyone with previous experience about the hiring process at UCSD?

I called a nursing recruiter today and she said we probably will hear back from them in 2 weeks or so... And there is ONLY 1 spot for ER this time at Hillcrest :bluecry1:

Good luck everybody!

Do we really have to give them a call or just wait for their reply? How about med-surg? Do you have idea how many spots left?

sdrn10 thank you for the info..gudluck to us!

I filled out the questionnaire and never received a reply email. Oh well, maybe that means I'm out? I did work as an extern at UCSD, so I thought I would have a chance!

I only got an email because I emailed the HR person and she said they received my questionnaire and does not need anything at the moment. Remember from their post that they might not even have openings. I don't know it's pretty confusing to open up applications if there isn't any openings. Don't be discouraged just email the HR person and I'm sure she will let you know if they received or maybe just call :)

Thank you tomatohead! I remember you from the UCLA 2011 posts :) Just curious- where do you live? I'm in San Diego.

It's disappointing to think that the unit I applied to may not even have openings...if that's the case, I wonder if we get a chance to apply for something else?

Anyone hear back from UCSD yet? Any emails sent out that resume was forwarded to hiring manager???..... I Haven't heard anything yet!!!

Neither have I!! I keep hoping my inbox shows (1) new message from the recruiter but nothing yet. I've been this close to calling them but am thinking patience is a virtue so I'll hold on a little longer. Good luck to us all.

I live 10 minutes from Long Beach.

I choose the NICU and Labor and Delivery as my top 2 units.

I finally emailed the recruiter and she said that the Women's Services Department (including L&D, NICU, and Ante/Post Partum) won't be able to hire any new grads in Jan. And that they won't be able to hire any new grads until at least July 2011.

So I emailed the nurse recruiter and she replied back that, they are still reviewing new grad applications and questionnaires and that we will receive an email updating us one way or the other in the next few weeks. So everyone sit tight and Good Luck!!!
