Hi guys, this is my first comment here. I applied the first day the UCSD New grad opened their positions. I choose ICU, L&D and PCU. I do feel bad because I wish it would've let me update my application since I feel like I did not fill in absolutely everything. I am a bit confused on how people could choose "NICU" or "PICU" because for me it only let me choose "ICU". I would've wanted to specify either PICU or NICU. I got my RN license early this month and I only had my BLS, NIHSS, ACLS certificates. I have a ADN. I only have CNA experience. My application still says open and received. Everyone whos status changed, could you give a bit more feedback on when you applied and your situation please? Such as degree, experience and any other reason you think you were referred? Thank you all, I will tell if I got rejected or referred.

Hey! So I had an ADN (with BSN in process) , my CA RN license,  ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications (none of the L&D requirements), no healthcare experience but I previously worked for a UC hospital on the administrative/business end.  I also had 100+ hours of clinical experience in the areas I applied to. I mentioned in a different post as well but my status as of now is “referred to hiring”. No internal connections but unsure if previously working for a UC would help?

Hey guys! I applied with L&D as my first, still says app received… hoping that still means they might be reviewing?!

Thank you so much, yes I also have my BSN in process and I did clinical hours and my preceptorship at UCSD so hopefully I hear back soon. I also had a ton of volunteer work. Congrats on being referred !! Same, I have none of the L&D requirements.

Hello- anyone else's status switch to "Referred to Hiring Department"? Mine was updated today! I have my BSN, RN license, PALS, ACLS, and BLS, volunteer experience, and completed my preceptorship in my first choice unit. However, I am a Northern California applicant.

Just curious, did you get an email or did you check your portal and it said that?

If you don’t mind me asking, what unti did you guys put?

Hi everyone I also applied with my top pick being L&D something I wanted to mention was that the application had previously listed there to be 10 positions available for this unit... if I remember correctly... but now if you go back it says 20!! I wonder if this is a typo or if I just applied earlier and didn't see it change until now?

Hi y'all! My application status changed yesterday to referred to hiring manager. I have my BSN, RN license, BLS, and ACLS. My choices were ICU, ED, and PCU. I completed my preceptorship in the ED. I have healthcare experience as a nursing assistant and I also have volunteer experience. Does anyone know if they mainly hire people from San Diego? I'm from the Bay Area. Thank you!

I saw that too! I put L&D as my first pick as well and mine still says "Application Received" ..... I keep checking my status like 10 times/day LOL

My application now says referred to hiring, I put L&D as my first. Hoping I get an interview!
