Published

Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for the Winter 2025 Cohort at UCLA. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!

The application opened up today 09/06! Good luck to all of us ❤️

@UCRNtobe can you share what you found? I'm also having the same problem and the email and number on the website haven't gotten back to me yet. I also have a friend who applied before and she got the questionnaire

Did you mention that you are working currently?

I did! I included my new grad position on my resume before I submitted the application

Hi! so I applied for the Summer cohort 2024 and I remember doing the questionnaire. Right before you hit apply now there is a a section called Job Duties and then it says description. Within the description it says this," After submitting the application, you will be emailed and prompted to take an assessment (if not previously completed). It takes 45 minutes to complete. PLEASE BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE ASSESSMENT. Your application will not be considered until it is completed." I have other friends that will be applying either today or tomorrow and they previously applied as well. I called too but no answer and left a voicemail to call me back. As of right now I feel l am good. But now you are giving me this new update and now IDK LOL. Keep me posted please just incase they contact you for(:

Hello everyone!! I just submitted my application. Did you guys get a questionnaire when you guys applied? I applied last year and got one within 5 min but nothing yet this time around and its been a couple hours.

Thanks for any help,

If you've already taken the questionnaire in the past, you don't have to do it again. I first applied to UCLA for a nurse extern position 2 years ago, and that's when I took the questionnaire! I didn't have to do it again when I applied for the new grad application in March and this application.

Hi (-: I got interviews for both units I applied to the last application as well! I felt like the med surg/tele overflow interview went really well. During the interview they kept bringing up how they liked my restaurant experience and nurse extern job experience, and how that would help me become a successful nurse on the floor. So I was really surprised when I didn't get an offer )-: For my MICU interview, it was kinda 50/50. I felt like I wasn't really vibing with the managers, and when they said they were only hiring 2 new grads for the position, I already had a feeling I wasn't going to get it.

How about you? And what units did you apply for, for this application?

@BookishNurse97 I applied to the geriatrics Unit in santa monica and the liver unit. Both went really well. I really thought I would get the position in the geriatric unit because the managers really liked me and then in the second interview with the staff I felt  that they really thought I would be a good fit. For liver it was the managers who kept asking me questions about my personal time and how dedicated I would be to the unit. They liked my response as well and I thought I went really well as well. When I didn't get either I assumed in general the staff I guess were just really nice and misread them. This time around I applied to the main OR and telemetry

I wonder what they're really looking for in a new grad candidate )-:

Are you currently working somewhere else as a new grad? Hopefully that would give us a better chance this time if they see we're currently working as RN's, but we're still super interested in their residency.

I was told there were so many good candidates that it was really hard to choose, because most units only had 2 spots available. Then we also have to consider if someone is applying and they're an internal applicant. From what I heard they typically leave a spot for one BSN and one MSN but this could just be word of mouth. Im not working right now in my head im on Summer break LOL

Hello I apply to oncology peds at RR and medsurg has anyone heard back yet ? 😫
