UCLA New Grad RN 2013

U.S.A. California

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

Congrats to everyone as well!! I can't believe they extended offers over the weekend. If anyone has any info on temporary housing options please post. I'm looking to get an apt for Sept 1 but start on Aug 12th!

Yes she said it was because PICU starts before everyone else they had to get the calls in today.[/quote']

Do you know if she made all call offers that day? I had a second interview last week for picu. Guess its safe to say I'm out of the running?

rosebud629, I'm not sure if they made all the calls or not. I just know that since picu starts so soon they had to get things done quickly.

Did you get an offer over the weekend too? If you did congrats!!

I just finished getting my fingerprints and the recruiter said : two start dates aug 9 and aug 26 it's just depends on what unit you got hired on.

Did any one else got a job offer in CCU/Med-surg ICU, Santa Monica?

Did anyone get job offers for the Peds unit? And anyone know when the Peds new grad program starts?

I moved here in LA last year for the new grad program from NorCal as well. I suggest looking at places in Westwood village, Santa Monica, Culver city, and west Hollywood. Try not to get a place in the San Fernando valley because traffic in 405 is ridiculous. Expect rent to be expensive - up to $1500 for a studio especially in Westwood and west Hollywood. 1 bed 1 bath is usually more expensive compared to if you share a 2b2b apt. I got my place in west Hollywood through craigslist, so don't be scared to look there.

I just got offered a position in the PICU and accepted. I am so excited! I was wondering if anyone knew where to live in the LA area? I am from Northern CA and need to find a place asap. They told me my start date is August 12th really quick. So I need to find a place to live or crash for a little while. Any help or thoughts would be great! Thank you!

Hi, did anyone have first interview for the intermediate care unit at santa monica hear anything back?

And congrats to those who got hired!!
