I'm posting this as the UCLA Health applications open up today for Summer 2023. Want to have a chance to connect!
kjlrnish said:Wow so I got my offer letter on 5/23 and accepted it on 5/26. When I accepted it, I was not redirected to a new hire zoom scheduler. I have emailed Nicholas and Erick regarding this issue to no response and have not been able to reach them through Nicholas's phone number provided either. I guess I'll try and call them tomorrow morning
Yeah I would definitely check! I'm sure you got the offer, but maybe their system is glitching out. I've literally gotten the confirmation email for the new hire session over 30 times! It's driving me crazy but I can't block them ? LOL. Definitely something is wrong with their automated system. Anyways, I received my offer 5/31 and was immediately prompted to schedule my new hire session and made it for 6/7, and was then sent a second email to create the onboarding portal. Then the next day on 6/1 I received a phone call and email to schedule my drug test and physical exam with occupational health

Oh okay great! Yeah, I've been trying to be patient with their new system, but my neurosis gets the better of me LOL. Are you an internal or external hire?

I'm an external hire. I would email Nicholas again. We were emailing on Friday.
What did your offer say about your shift? Mine said "you will work day shift and/or day/night shift rotation.” I asked Nicholas and he said: "Your primary shift will be days, yet all Nurse Residents are expected to work day/night rotation throughout the year due to program needs (I.e. class, orientation).” In my interview, rotating shifts was never mentioned, I was only asked my preference and I told her days.
Anyone wondering - Night differential is $6.00, weekend differential is $2.75, and after 6 months, pay will raise to $56.63. ?

Okay, great. I'll email him again tomorrow morning.
Regarding shifting, your unit director would have a much better idea about that and I would email him or her. Nicholas probably has as much information regarding it as you do I.e. he's reading off your offer letter. On 6ICU, we are expected to rotate between day and night shift every month for the first year or so so that we can gain knowledge regarding both shifts. From then on, we can either choose to be full nights or continue to rotate between shifts. Your interviewer may be starting you off on days and rotating you to nights later.

Thanks so much for the info! I'll email her since it seems like every unit is different. Would love it to be only days LOL. But If I have to do nights once in a while, I can live with that temporarily since UCLA is a good opportunity. I work at Providence St John's and my boss will hire me to day shift there, so im conflicted bc I'm an early bird haha?
kjlrnish said:Did anyone receive an offer with no phone call? Also, for those who have had offers, have you been contacted regarding onboarding yet?
I received an offer with no phone call! Just got the email with my offer in it. I have my new hire session and physical exam already scheduled.
