Hi everyone!
The application for the new grad program at UCLA for the Winter 2016 cohort opens today. Finally! It feels like I've been waiting in anticipation for so long. Any other hopefuls applying for this cohort? I figured I'd start a thread so we could update each other on the status of our applications and such... I know I've poured over many threads from the past cohorts to try to get more info!
Good luck everyone who is applying!
Hi guys! I actually got a chance to talk to the person we addressed cover letters to this past weekend at the CNSA convention. She said the application window was extended because they didn't get the typical amount of applicants as they had in years past (good news?) and that they had more positions open up. She also said they accept upwards of 100-140 new grads...which I find amazingggg! I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but those are pretty good numbers! Good luck everyone! :)
Thanks for sharing this info! Did she happen to say when they send out invitations for interviews (early or late Nov)?
Anyone know anything about the interviewing process? Do they give us a set interview date and time, or can we let them know what would work well for us? I am assuming the former, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure. Has anyone asked about phone/Skype interviews?

In looking through some forums for past cohorts, it sounds like those who are granted interviews are sent an email with a link that allows the candidate to pick from a set list of interview dates/times- first come, first served. I also saw that second interviews were done, and that those who were most qualified were sent an email, asking the candidate to provide 5 references within 24 hours. These references were then contacted or asked to complete a questionnaire.
I am unsure about phone interviews, but I did read that qualified, out-of-state applicants were given second interviews that same day to accommodate their travel schedules.
i am very worried since past entrance statistics shown only approximately 10 get in as transfers for over 200 applicants, most of which I'm sure are not competitive applicants.
Socal_EMT, I think you may be in the wrong thread, this thread is for the new grad program with UCLA Health (for recent nursing school RN graduates), not the nursing program at UCLA the school.
Hey guys! Just thought I would update and let you guys know that my application status changed to "Routed to Interviewing Supervisor"Hoping that is a good sign!! :) Check yours!
Congrats- that's exciting news! May I ask what units you applied to?
My status hasn't changed yet, so I'll be refreshing like crazy good luck!
