UCLA New Grad Program Winter 2016

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone!

The application for the new grad program at UCLA for the Winter 2016 cohort opens today. Finally! It feels like I've been waiting in anticipation for so long. Any other hopefuls applying for this cohort? I figured I'd start a thread so we could update each other on the status of our applications and such... I know I've poured over many threads from the past cohorts to try to get more info!

Good luck everyone who is applying!

I am also applying for this residency. I just finished submitting my application for peds and perinatal. Good luck!

I just completed my application and applied for oncology, Peds, and med/surg. Good luck everyone! :)

I applied to perinatal, ED, and Psych. I was really disappointed that the NICU wasn't offered for this cohort since I'm completing a 225 hour preceptorship in the NICU this semester... bummer. Crossing my fingers that if I get an interview it doesn't fall on my graduation ceremony date in December! :)

Well I definitely think your preceptorship will help you with perinatal for sure :)

I hope so! :) I just realized that I uploaded two cover letters instead of a cover letter and resume because I mislabeled the documents when I uploaded..... I can't withdraw and resubmit because it says that I will not be able to apply for the position if I withdraw. I called HR who forwarded my call to nurse recruitment. I got their voicemail because they are busy.. Thinking about withdrawing and re-applying under a new login profile... but I'm nervous that this will potentially look weird. I hope they return my call to give me some direction on what to do! What a stupid mistake. Just happy I caught it!

I applied to this program today!! I chose peds, PICU, and perinatal!! Hopefully we all get interviews :)

So excited!

I applied for CVICU, MICU, and Telemetry. Praying things work out. Anyone applying anywhere else in LA? I looked at USC's application but they aren't offered any ICU positions this cohert. Does anyone know when the app for Cedars opens?

Good luck everyone

Can someone please clarify where to submit the letter of recs? The website says they prefer a pdf or word doc, but I don't see where to submit it. Is there a place to attach it after I submit an application?

Good luck everyone! I applied to perinatal, ER, and med/surg.

Yes, there is a place that will ask you to upload a resume, cover letter, and two letters of recommendation after you submit the application! :)

Initially, I was going to apply to other hospitals. However, because I am coming from out of state, I am nervous that I will not have my license by the start date of the programs. UCLA does not require you to have an RN to start, only an interim permit. Granted, my license will likely be processing by then, I don't want to depend on the California BON when it comes to a job and moving across the country. I figured UCLA was the only safe place to apply to and not have to worry so much about that aspect :)
