UCLA New Grad OR Training Program Fall 2022

Hi everyone,

I created this thread for those who applied to the UCLA OR Training Program starting Fall 2022- October, so we can talk about updates and new progresses. 
I submitted my application today! 

Did anyone interview for the SM Main OR?

OMG thank you for the info!! My interviewer didn’t mention anything about offers so I’m a bit bummed ?  Do you mind to share which location you interviewed for? 

I had mine this morning as well ? hoping yours went well! I interviewed for RR main OR. Above you mentioned interviewing for the WW location, would you mind sharing what that is?  I've only heard of RR and SM locations.

It was more behavioral I'd say. They asked me where I see myself in 5 years, to discuss my clinical experiences, and they asked me what procedures I'd seen/been a part of (colonoscopies, bronchoscopies, etc..) since I was applying for MPU. Hope this helps!

 

Does anyone know if they send out emails (offers or rejection) for all locations together or separate? My interviewer said a couple of weeks, which would put it at next week but if they wait for RR then that would look more like August 12th ?

 I believe they place offers separately since there are a variety of locations. Does anyone know how they assigned locations for interviews? I don't remember there being a choice to select a location

I'm not sure! I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure each manager reviewed and decided if you were a good fit based on your experience? I don't have my RN license yet! I take the NCLEX on Saturday.

Thank you!! I was wondering the same thing, I reviewed the application and saw there was a multiple choice question that asked preference.  But even with that, they selected where I interviewed for. Not sure how they do assignments either ?

It’s an ambulatory surgery center in Westwood! She mentioned they do many diff kinds of surgeries - orthopedic, spinal, general etc.

I don’t even remember having choices for locations ? they just assigned me to WW. I also thought my interviewer was this person but it was a completely different person!

Has anyone heard back yet? My status date jus  changed to “7/27/21” but it’s still “In review”. ?

Haven’t heard anything but just checked and my status was last modified 7/27 but says still in review also. Not sure what that means ?

Mine says last modified 7/27/22…why are the years different? Still no idea what that means though.
