Im on the opposite coast but I wanted to say Congratulations! How very exciting and what a huge change....
I moved from Maine to Texas as a new grad and the culture shock was almost as draining as the new career. Take time to take care of yourself. Keep in touch with home and your support systems. THink of it as a little bit more school... with that kind of focus.
Good luck! UCLA - WOW!!!
Hi, Lisa,
How has it been since you started in August? I am interviewing for a new grad residency position with the Neuro/Trauma ICU in November. My internet search for information on UCLA's Neuro/Trauma ICU has been unsuccessful. Do you have any info or links you can share with me? I hope to get the job and meet you and the other new grads starting in February!
Hello,
I'm a new grad from MA considering relocating to CA. I got an email the next day asking to schedule for an interview after applying online to the new grad residency program at UCLA. (I've only received 2 calls over a 4 months period in MA) Seems like everyone is interviewing either on Nov. 7 or 12. I'm wondering what the interview process is like, and what is it like living in LA.. rents, cost of living, transportation... etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! :heartbeat

Hello everyone,
I am beginning the new grad program at UCLA Medical Center sometime in August (we haven't been informed of a start date yet) and wanted to see if there are any other new grads out there starting the program too. I am moving to LA in July and am really nervous about the big step (I am from Michigan) . Any advice from current UCLA employees or nurses? I am working in the Neuro/Trauma ICU, any current ICU nurses who can tell me what to expect? Thanks in advance for the help! :-)
