UCLA MECN Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

It's that time of year again! I am planning on applying for the Fall 2019 quarter. The summer 2018 information sessions are now open. Who else is applying ?

Application is open now! It opened on September 10th

Just to give you guys a heads up, I spoke to one of the admissions coordinators on Monday regarding the graduate application. Theres a glitch in the system when entering your pre-requisites courses, specifically Chemistry. If you took General Chemistry and Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry separately, I was informed to enter the Organic and Biochemistry grade not General Chemistry. They will look at your uploaded unofficial transcript for the General Chemistry grade. Good luck to you all ! Hope we all make it through.

Hi guys,

I've been trying to reach the recruitment and admissions team but no one seems to be available :( Do any of you know what to put under the Epidemiology section if you have not taken it yet? (I am hoping to be able to take it at UCLA if I get in).

# Application Question :

Hello all,

When we manually enter our prerequisites, what are we suppose to type for the prerequisite "- Department / Number * "?

(Ex: Human Anatomy - Department / Number*)

I believe it would show on your transcript what department Human Anatomy falls under for the specific school where you took the class. For example, I took Introductory to Human Anatomy at UCLA Extension. The department would be "Life Sciences" because that is the main department the class falls under. The "number" would be the class number. For example, Intro to Human Anatomy was listed as "Physci XL 13", some schools have it as Human Anatomy I etc... I would contact the admissions office just to make sure though.

I took epidemiology already so I can't help you there. Have you been emailing or calling the office? I do know that they are busy going around community colleges and high schools doing recruitment work right now. If you need the phone number to one of the admissions counselors PM me.

Thank you! I will enter the information this way for now then check with admissions

Are letters of rec due in January?

I did e-mail them and they said any supporting documents are due January 15th. I just want to double check :)

I am so nervous to apply this year. What are you guys' stats? Are you guys applying to any other master's entry program?

Yes the application is due Nov 1. Official Transcripts and Letters of Rec are due January 15th. I'm applying to WesternU, USD, UCI, , USF, Azusa, Johns Hopkins. I'm nervous as well. The SOP and Personal History is stressing me out since they're the most important.

For the resume we upload, are we to include an objective statement like we would for employment ? Or is that optional ? I just want to confirm small details

You don't have to

Is the personal history required? Can anyone who went to the info meetings confirm? I was reading last years forum and it said it wasn't required.
