Have been looking around and haven't really seen a topic on this yet. This is my dream school/program. I am from Seattle so I am having to get a lot of info from them long-distance instead of going to an information session. Has anyone gone to an information session yet?
Just found out I was accepted for Fall. Joined the Facebook page. Excited for what's ahead. Trying to find a way to take an epi course without taking it at UCLA. Let me know if anyone has any online courses they know of. I saw that the ucla extension has an online class offered this spring. Dont know if that counts. Thanks
@mmccann44 looking at the previous year they started to hear back around mid march but it might be different this year so its good that you asked. And last year it looks like they took all the way up to 37 on the waitlist but again this is just from what the forum stated. Let me know what they say when you get an email back. Ill be dying of anxiety over here as well!
If you go to the MECN site they have a list of pre-approved pre reqs. I'd probably verify the one you want to take before signing up but it helped me research.
If its any help to anyone I emailed an advisor about how long till we get the link if we accepted and the response was "7-10 business days"
Thanks! I emailed her Saturday when I got my letter and she responded Monday. I guess Monday was day one. I will start using the group more to discuss these things once you all get put in :)
Does anyone who has joined the group know if it shows up on your timeline? I can't find concrete info from Facebook about privacy of groups and don't want work finding out I am moving through Facebook :).If there's no way to hide the info, I'll join once I've given notice.
Thanks again to Betty for setting up the group!
I saw on my timeline just now that it shows up (FYI)! Just letting you know. I swear I didn't notice it last night, but I double checked right now and it shows...
Are you guys considering living on campus or nearby? I'm not familiar with the area but from what I've seen so far, housing is expensive.
If you could, I would definitely consider living in graduate housing (Weyburn Terrace... I know they were in the process of building more complexes the year I left so I don't know their names). There is a free campus shuttle that takes you to and from campus. Walking is also an option as the apartments are not far from campus on days when you don't want to wait for the shuttle. From what I've heard graduate housing is very nicely priced for what you get compared to other apartment complexes in the Westwood area. If you are not able to get into graduate housing, I also recommend Strathmore Regency, which is also close to the campus shuttle stop. My roommates and I stayed there for our last two years of undergrad and we loved it! Happy Hunting!
