UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hello!

The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?

I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.

I take my TEAS Monday. Pray for me. Lately, I've been feeling so discouraged about it

I think the same number will be applying. Just less people actively on the boards. Good luck on the Teas!

I've looked at the entire post from last years group, just to see their scores of who got in! And what is the background check like? Does it take a long time? I just feel like from now until decision time is going to take FOREVER!!

My teas was an 82.7......

Not as good as I hoped :(

My GPA prereq is 4.0 and my overall is 4.0

should I take teas again...?

I saw where [COLOR=#003366]Nursowiczka2b had my stats and got into the accelerated program last year.

Then again I know each year is different.

Hey guys! The interviews do matter! I know a few people who sat next to me in the interview, and did not receive an acceptance letter and they had competitive scores! They want to see genuine, motivated students who are ready to start such a serious program, and are in it for the right reasons. They will be able to tell all that by the way you present yourself and your answers. But as I'm sure you all are, if you are serious about being a nurse for the right reasons (not for the money), you will be just fine! But make sure you dress professionally. Yes, no cleavage or short skirts! There were a few girls who came underdressed and I am very sure it was marked against them. So my message basically is, just because you receive an interview invite, make sure you take it seriously, and just be you. Most importantly, relax! And know why you choseThis as your future and how you plan to be successful in the program. The program is great!!

I can't believe how few people are commenting on this thread. I'm in the class with jv and Katsmeow and both are great resources. We pretty much lived on allnurses for the six months leading up to interviews. If last year is any indication, there are probably a lot of guests reading and not posting. Join! 1. Relax, but don't relax too much. A little anxiety isn't the worst thing in the world.2. Relax. I got in with a 3.83 prereq, 3.84 cumulative, and 88.7 TEAS. Some are higher and others are lower.3. Relax. The interviews matter, but you don't have to be a professional speaker to do well. Think about potential answers to their questions and a few relevant questions you may have (HINT: it's unlikely they'll ask "why do you want to be a nurse?" and if they do, say more than "because I want to help people.") Also, dress professionally and modestly. The interview isn't the time for cleavage or to show off how amazing your legs or glutes are. Males, wear a tie and preferably a suit. Good luck everyone.
Hey!! Yes you're right! At this time last year we probably had about 20 pages going haha. Join!!!

Hey! Make sure you get all the background stuff done early so it is not last minute. Like your fingerprinting! I know some students who ran into problems. And yes the wait is torturous! But the acceptance email in the end is SO worth it. They emailed them out at 10:00pm while I was at work, and I cried my eyes out as did many others haha.

Hello everybody!

My pre-req GPA is 4.0, my overall GPA is 3.9, and my TEAS score is an 85.

I requested the application on January 2nd, and now I feel really anxious.

I have a 4.0 prereq and overall. I got an 82.7 TEAS do u think I have a shot this semester?

Were there a lot of you who got in with an 83 on TEAS

Hello! Yes I was accepted and my overall GPA was lower than yours, and I had a 83 on the TEAS :)

There were many students who had very similar scores as mine. I think you have very competitive scores! But overall, how "competitive" you are in relation to everyone else really depends on the application pool for this cycle. If you want, you can try taking the TEAS one last time to see if you can boost it any higher!

I also recommend getting the teas study guide by ati to use, it helped me study!
