It would seem as though they require a doctorate for the FNP program. I understand that eventually all NP programs will require a doctorate.
I have heard about the recomendation for a DPN as entry level to practice (there is a sticky thread under specialty then advance practice)-- I was wondering about the University of Central Florida's MSN programs.

I have looked at the website--they only have general information. Have you heard anything about how many students they are admitting? When they will be notified? etc.

My experience with UCF is that they're forthcoming with this information when you call them. I would contact the College of Nursing then ask to speak with the graduate assistant. Typically, this person can and will tell you how many applications were received, how many will be admitted and general notification times. Good luck!

There were more than 220 applicants for Fall 2009 and they are only accepting 32-50 students. As of today 4/23 no decision has been made
The final decision was made this month-- they took 52 students to FNP and ANP tracks out of 226 applicants.
I found out back on May 14th but had already applied elsewhere. Couldn't wait for UCF forever.
Are you attending UCF or another school for your NP?
I am not attending UCF. I will be attending Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. They have an excellant program with extensive clinical training. The program is completely on-line with clinicals being done in your community. The cost is comparable to UCF with the only exception being two trips to Kentucky during the program. I am more than a little disillusioned by UCF. The wait was horrendous making it difficult to make any plans. I started applying elsewherre the end of April. What about you?
