UCF 2013 Fall-Orlando generic BSN applicants?

Published

Starting a thread for others applying to this program!

I volunteer at WP Florida Hospital and see UCF nursing students all the time, and particularly on Fridays.

So I guess that's one of the clinical sites then. Do you know of any others?

Not really. I only volunteer in WP and I bump into the students in the elevator or the cafeteria. They sometimes pass through the unit I volunteer at.

Who knows, maybe I'll see someone today and get a chance to ask.

I think they also do rotations at Orlando Health facilities too. However, when I volunteered at Arnold Palmer I always saw Valencia students.

I wonder where they do psych rotation. I'm looking forward to that one (I'm good at the neck-up stuff).

Hmmm I'm not sure where they would do the psych ones

For clinical sites, they all differ and again is random on which you're assignment to. You could live right next to a hospital, yet you get assigned to another one. It's kind of silly. But, first you're out in the community. Then you are at long term care facilities (all prob within 30 to 45 minutes from UCF). Then the second semester you start at hospitals, either Florida Hospital (like Orlando-East, I think Dr. Philips?, MD Anderson), or ORMC (Orlando Regional, Winnie Palmer, Arnold Palmer). Almost all clinicals start at 6:45AM, some you'll have two days, so until the afternoon, or you may just have one day of clinicals, but you wouldn't get off clinicals until 7:30PM that night...

It's great you are moms and that you are going back to school, but with clinicals you have to be so flexible!

At least there's a variety of locations. Lol

Just like GoKnights pointed out, clinical locations are all over the place: from Apopka over Winter Park to Bithlo...hospital setting is with the ORMC and FH...

I'm excited. I just hope I get offered a slot for interviews. 3 weeks down, 3-5 weeks left in the waiting game lol

Is your interview for accelerated or basic? Heard accelerated were for march 22 and basic not emailed yet and interviews not till April 12

I applied to both and I got the Accelerated letter last Thursday. I'm sure they'll mail out the basic letters right after decisions go out about the accelerated, since that should free up a lot of seats.
