UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I am a pre-nursing student attending UCF Orlando Campus. I am applying this summer to Cocoa Beach and Daytona Campuses to start Spring 2013! Eeek! I know there have been other forums regarding previous admissions to the program that have helped me to figure where I stand. I thought it would be nice to have a chance to meet each other, talk about our scores, and answer or ask questions regarding the application process!

Hi everyone!

I am also applying to the Spring 2013 UCF BSN program. I just took my TEAS today and got a 92! I'm ecstatic! My overall GPA is 3.88, science GPA is 3.6, prereq GPA is 3.85. My back-up is the SSC/UCF concurrent program, but I like the idea of finishing in only 5 semesters, so here's to hoping I get in the basic BSN program! Good luck everyone!

man this sucks, i studied more and scored lower on my TEAS retake got only 78.7% killed again by low language score of 60% . The good news is i called UCF and they do not have a most recent score policy like some other places, so i can use my higher score i took back in may...so hopefully 84% will have to be good enough i not going to take this test again. So here goes... I am submitting my application today. Good luck to everyone!

@man-nurse2b I think your score is great! I have 2 friends in UCFs program right now with almost identical scores :) Also I talked with my advisor over the phone and she said that the points system I was asking about before is based on our cum GPA science GPA and non-science GPA and i think it was like a 3.0 =0 1 3.1= 5 a 3.2 =10 etc and somehow they do a calculation based on those three GPA's and your TEAs so that gives kind of a better idea of how they do it. I think the interviews are gonna be a chance to really kind of stand out and shine in other areas than just numbers, like volunteering, extracurriculars, musical/sports talents maybe?

Hello,

I've also applied to the cocoa program.. I hate that we have to wait so long, but can anyone tell me how to know the pre-req GPA? You guys have pretty good scores :)

Anybody heard anything?

no I think by the end of September maybe we will start getting out letter if we are accepted or not..since it is 6 to 8 weeks after deadline :/

@ mc0323 For your pre-req GPA go to your degree audit @ myUCF or if your arent a UCF student theres some websites that will help you calculate it, you just have to find how mow many credits all of your pre-req classes were and what grade you got in them and it will tell you what it is :]

Hi All!

I called UCF today to ask if they knew when interviews would be for Spring applicants. She told me she didn't know but probably next month. She said that info will be posted on website and that we'd get emails. I also asked if they were still on track for a 6-8 week decision time-frame and she said yes. Seems like if they're gonna make decisions by Oct. 15th they'll need to start interviews within the next couple weeks.

So you think we will get called for an interview only if we are considered for the program?? :o.. I would be so nervous but I'm sure it can help us out.

Yes, my understanding is that everyone that makes the first cut will be interviewed and then scored on GPA, science/pre-req GPA, Teas test, and interview. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

I think you're right.. everyone who has had good scores will be narrowed down based on the interviews to the number they want for the class.. I can't wait but good luck!
