good luck! They sent out the letters mid march last year.

Thanks! At the interview they said they would try to aim for the end of Feb. but we'll see about that...

I got in!!! I'm so excited!!! Do you have any advice?

Congratulations! That is fantastic! What was the application process like? If you are confortable sharing, what was your prior degree in, and gpa? What kind of questions did they ask during the interview? Sorry for so many questions, but I hope to be in your shoes a year from now!

Best wishes as you progress on your journey!

jcarlisle6 here is a breakdown of our semesters so far...

Summer: Material is not too difficult, but grasping the concept of thinking critically as a nurse would and not just regurgitating information was probably the hardest thing for most people. The first 6 weeks you are swamped with busy work, but hang in there...several people dropped out before then because of the work load, but once you get the big paper in, it's a piece of cake. This semester you take community (6 weeks of lecture and clinicals..kind of a joke class), roles (Easy), Health Assessment with a lab, Fundamentals with a lab (this class was the one most people struggled in), and long term care clinicals the last 6 weeks of summer

Fall: This was by far the hardest semester content wise, but definitely doable. You take pharm, patho, adult 1 (this was the class most people had difficulty in) and then a family class. They split it so have of the term you are doing OB/Ped clinicals and then the other half you are in an adult rotation. I liked it because all of the classes coordinated it by system, so when you were learning about the patho of a disease you were also learning about the drugs for that disease in pharm, and the nursing management in adult and family.

Spring- I feel like this semester is by far the easiest. There are only 2 lecture classes..Mental health and adult 2. They split the clinicals again so half the semester you are doing your psych rotation and then the other half you are doing your adult 2. If you have a research class from your previous degree definitely try and have the class waived!!! I am in the 1 credit research seminar with the dean and all we do is sit in class for an hour and pick apart a research article. If you don't have a research class already you will have to take the 3 credit online one, which I have heard nothing but negative things about just because of all the busy work you have to do.

I can't tell you how the last semester will be yet, as we aren't that far along yet :)

I read for the classes...and do a lot of practice questions before exams and have a very high GPA, but still have a very active social life....this program is very doable!

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the info. and advice! The program definatly sounds intense but it has to be since it's only a year long. It's good to know that you can have an active social life and still maintain a high GPA. I am very prepared for this and am looking forward to it! Good luck with the rest of the program! You're almost finished! That's has got to feel good. :) Do you want to get your masters?
