UCF accelerated nursing program

Published

Hello! Is anyone out there planning on applying to the UCF 2nd degree/accelerated nursing program next summer?

I will be applying too to start next summer but am still a little bit behind with my pre-reqs.I just formally applied for the general UCF admission.

I also just applied to UCF but I don't think I will apply to the nursing program until January since they don't have a waitlist. I will be finished with my pre-reqs in the fall but I'm afraid my GPA isn't high enough for the program. I'm just nervous about not getting in.

My BSc GPA does not look good too. I recently did the general UCF application, I will also apply my Jan for the nursing program. I know that its competitive but I will definitely give it a try. I am working so hard to keep my Pre-req GPA as high as possible. Am still taking some classes at SCC

I'm finishing up my pre-reqs at Valencia right now. I think I may take statistics over next semester since I got a C in it. I spoke with a nursing professor at UCF who said not to worry about re-taking it, but then I spoke to someone in the nursing program there right now who said definatly re-take it.

I was wondering if any of you guys made it to the program, if so congratulations!!!!! What was your GPA?

Acceptance letters won't start going out until sometime in March (at least that's what they said at the info session). I hate waiting!!!!!!!!!!! If I don't get in, I'll go to Valencia, but why go to school for a longer time only to get a lesser degree? I'm feeling a bit frustrated and a bit concerned after reading some of these threads.... But no matter what, I know that I've done the best I can. I just want to know whether or not I'm in!

There is so much you can do right now, so relax March is just around the corner. Good luck to you!!!!!

It's wild to read these threads because I went through the same you guys are going through last year. Ahhhh! The waiting game. Anyway, they let me know around spring break and this year our spring break starts March 6th. Also, it was by letter last year not a phone call. Keep in mind, they admitted someone for my program one day after it started because a person dropped out the second day and they wanted to fill that spot. Basically, if you're not accepted then make sure you're still good-to-go because you may not know if they'll have another last minute drop and want to fill that spot. Regardless, good luck!

Thank you orlandoflnurse2b!! I'm glad you said that before I asked!!

At my interview last October they said they would shoot for the end of Feb. with acceptance letters. Did anyone else hear that? I'm going nuts checking my mail everyday lol.

ha! i'm checking my mail everyday too! are we the only two here who applied to this program????
