UCAN Denver 2020

Hi Everyone,

I’m applying to CU Denver accelerated BSN for the January 2020 program start. I wanted to see if anyone else is applying or has applied, and if anyone has any tips or suggestions. Or if anyone is currently in the program I’d love to hear all about it! I know it’s super competitive and I don’t know what my chances are... fingers crossed! I’m also applying to Regis University for spring 2020.

About me, I graduated UCSB in 2016 with double major in Communication and Global studies. I’m switching careers to nursing and will be done with all science pre reqs by June. I only have religious studies and Psych left for pre reqs. My undergrad GPA is 3.78 and my pre req GPA should be close to 4.0 (hopefully!) I also have volunteered 100 hours in the ICU. Does anyone know any admissions stats? Would love to hear any information!

Ahh congrats everyone!!! Are most of you in the area or out of state? I live close enough that I can drive but will probably need to move if accepted into the program.

It's a group format interview. Based on past threads there will be some general questions around why nursing, time management, why UCAN vs other programs, etc. There might be a group project/presentation of some sort too.

Hi guys! I just got the interview invite too! Is anyone planning on meeting up before the interview? I’ve heard past groups have done that. Congrats everyone! I live in San Diego so I’ll have to fly out for the interview.

I'm down to meet up Wednesday night! I went to UCSB too, graduated in 2014. Actually just moved out of IV and into Goleta haha. Are you still in the area?

Congrats everyone! I don't think anyone has set up any day to meet up yet but I can help plan something out. I live in Denver. Let me know what the plan is.

Not just CA...a paradise called UCSB, go gauchos! Down for a beer at a local brew or food place, will prob be flying in on Wednesday night around 8 PM.
