Just starting a discussion board for the UCSD Nurse Residency Program, July/Aug cohort... hope we can keep each other in the loop.

II. What School of Nursing did you attend/are you attending?
California State University, Stanislaus (RN-to-BSN)
and Modesto Junior College (ADN)

III. What floors/departments/units are you applying to?
(in order of preference)
1. Emergency Department (both)
2. Burn ICU
3. SICU
4. Telemetry PCU
5. PCU

Hi! For those that have had their status changed to "Referred to hiring manger"- Have all of you taken the NCLEX or have a date to take it? Wondering if they're considering people that will graduate this May/June?

My status changed to “referred to hiring manager” for 2 out of 4 applications and I have passed my NCLEX.

Hi @sd nursing student, my status also changed for 2 out of 5 to referred to hiring manager and I passed my NCLEX in March ?‍♂️ 
But I'm also just an ADN new graduate (+ RN-to-BSN student)... So if I can get referred, I feel like it could definitely still happen for you! ?

Hello everyone, 

I got an email yesterday from telemetry/PCU wanting to schedule an interview for Monday 17. I choose the zoom option since I live in the bay area. Anyone have any idea of how they interview or what to expect? Thank you in advance. 

ps. My status went from hiring manager to consideration for interview

Hi! I applied to L&D as well, app still says "Received." Were you an internal candidate? I know they review internal candidates first but stressful that it's been so long without hearing either good or bad!

Hi! My status has changed to "referred to hiring manager" for 2 out of 4 of my apps. I graduate in a few weeks and have not scheduled my NCLEX yet, but I am an internal candidate. But no word on an interview yet...

Nope I’m external! But good luck!! My application just got updated to “Others More Competitive” so I don’t think I got the interview ? 

 

On the plus side, I got an L&D offer in Seattle on Monday!! So I’m going to take it. Wish the rest of you luck

Congratulations @kmbxo that's amazing! Where did you get an offer in Seattle?? That's a big deal, I've heard it's as challenging to get a job in Seattle as a new grad these days as it is here in California.

And congrats to everyone who's gotten interviews so far at UCSD!!
