HI! I was wondering if anyone heard anything/news/process about UC irvine medical center new grad program for med/surg. Do they do phone interviews? panel interview? emails?

I haven't heard back yet either except for that first phone call :( I heard they were hiring 8 people. I know NICU has already hired. Hopefully they will contact for one of Neuro positions. Did you apply to any of the other positions Mayet?

Just a question, when/where did you see the listing for SICU? I've been eying the UCI website for a while (on/off since Nov) and hadn't seen it. I just wanted to make sure I'm looking at the right website. Thanks!

Hello...I have about 7 months of experience and I went on that SICU interview before I got my job so about 7 months ago. =)

@ e_start07 questions were NOT like "what do you think this patient has according to his s/s and what nursing interventions will you do for the pt"? when i went for my interview.They were all very nice... also they are well aware that we're new grads and its a teaching facility so its OKAY if you don't know something...=)

@Tbiytc- thank you! don't give up hope yet. The residency doesn't start until February, so there is still some time left. :)

Congrats DanceRN!!!! That is such good news. Would you mind sharing which unit you will be working on? UCI will be an amazing place to start. I am still crossing my fingers for at least one of the units to call me!

UCI is interviewing Med-Surg this week...tomorrow should be the last day. They have 8 openings but I know one of those spots has already been offered. Decisions should be made by next week.

Thanks for the info CSUSM. Have you heard anything about Neuro ICU and Neuro Stepdown Unit? I haven't heard a thing about it and since I didn't get medsurg that's my last hope :confused:

Sorry....I have no idea what the status of the neuro positions are. I applied and haven't heard anything either.
