Thanks! I got a call too. Ok just making sure cuz the HR lady I talked to wasn't helpful or nice. Just saying I made an appointment for you, but didn't even ask if the time was ok for me. She said it was a nurse recruiter that will contact us and ask a few questions and take about 10 mins. GOOD LUCK to you too! :)
Ha Ha! I thought the lady wasn't very nice either! I can't seem to find any information regarding this prescreening stuff, seems like all the previous UCI people had panel interviews, with no one ever mentioning a prescreening by phone! I was wondering if it was a real interview since I'm from out of state. Well, best of luck to you too:)
Hi everyone! I have an interview set up for med/surg soon. Has anyone else heard back for an interview? I got an email from the med/surg nursing director and we've been communicating that way. Anyone know how we can prepare for this interview? Anyone who has gone through UCI's interview process with helpful information will be much appreciated! Thank you~
I interviewed for the SICU at UCI when I was looking for a new grad position. I don't know if it will be the same process. It was a panel interview with the director, a charge nurse, and another staff nurse. They ask general questions like why UCI, some behavioral/clinical questions, what do you know about the joint commission. Also, when were you contacted by the med/surg director for your interview? I have a friend who's waiting. good luck!

Thank you so much, Telenurse22! I am glad to hear they are general questions. I've never had a panel interview before (only one-on-one interviews) so hopefully it won't seem as intimidating with 2 or 3 more interviewers there! When you say "behavioral/clinical questions" do you mean questions like "What would you do in this particular situation..how would you handle the situation"? types of questions NOT like "what do you think this patient has according to his s/s and what nursing interventions will you do for the pt"? Thanks!! I received an email for med/surg on Dec. 28th and she said she was in the process of scheduling interviews. Hope that helps! :)
