UC Davis New Grad Residency March 2025 Cohort

Published

Hello, wanted to started a thread here for the new upcoming cohort with apps starting this November 2024.

Specializes in New Grad.

Anyone's application still says applied? I'm getting scared since their timeline mentions that review should start within 2-3 weeks after deadline. This is my second time applying and I am inching towards a year since graduation. I am definitely getting scared :,)

Mine still reads applied too.

In the last application cycle, it took about a month from the submission deadline for my application status to change to "routed for further consideration," and it took even longer for some others to change! I also never got a call, so it was a very long wait for me LOL 😵

So are you saying if my application still reads applied and or application received even though we are into December now..is there still a chance I can still be considered for an interview or to be routed to the nursing departments? Thank you.

Yes, she's one woman going through over 1,000 applications -- it takes time! A classmate of mine was hired for the October cohort (April application) and didn't interview until late July. For this timeline, that's like a February interview.

An update from LinkedIn:

UC Davis Health New Graduate Nurse Residency - Application Update

I am writing to provide the applicants for our Spring 2025 Cohorts with an update on their application status. We have received an overwhelming amount of applications and the review process is taking longer than expected. The review by HR will be done by mid-December with applications being sent to departments starting at and after that time.

Please use this time to study hard for your finals, participate in graduation ceremonies and enjoy the holiday season!

Hi, for those that know of anyone that got into this residency program, how did their list of clinical rotations format look like in their application?

I am worried that I did mine wrong, ex: "Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Medical Center, Neuro Intensive Care Unit – 96 hrs (Complex Adult Health, 07/2024)".

I inserted them as a list, because I did not see that there was a table format that UC Davis provided.... So I am worried that this might have lowered my chances.

Edit: I just reread your post. I've only applied and have not been accepted into the program yet. Best of luck to you!

My list was similar to yours on my resume. I can't remember if I listed it separately on the application. I also listed more detail for my practicum, ie. common diagnoses and age of the patient population.

Yes you should've had a clinical table as that's the format they request.

I could've sworn it just said it was suggested as an option, but not required. This is the page I was looking at, and it doesn't seem to say anything about it being necessary: https://hr.ucdavis.edu/jobs/nursing/residency/apply

I was told that the clinical rotations could be listed on the resume or a separate document. The format was suggested, not required.

Has anyone heard anything yet? I'm getting nervous LOL
