What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing the status of offers for the float pool program, with some mentioning specific departments that have made offers for the March cohort. There is uncertainty about the hiring process, with some members receiving offers for the May cohort after initial delays due to funding issues. Questions about specific units, preceptorship, housing, and application status for future cohorts are also being raised.

Hello, wanted to started a thread here for the new upcoming cohort with apps starting this November 2024.

Oh man, I thought we were only supposed to have one document with everything in it, and I didn't include the certifications. 😞

I didn't include my certification attachments either! I just have all my certs stated under my licensure and cert section. I think it'll be OK still!

Hi! Thanks for creating this thread! Did you guys use the clinical experience table they put on their website? Not sure if they want that exact format

I did use the exact format. My friend that got into their program before showed me hers and it's like a table!

Exactly! It'd be daunting to have to reformat after inputting everything.  I did the same. Had everything except duties performed at each clinical site. So yeah, fingers crossed they accept ours as way is.

I did the exact same thing. I did list duties during preceptorship.

Hi! Did you all make your cover letters for a specific unit or making it more general?

Definitely more generalized. I did include my experiences that would lend to the units I would be more interested in, though.

I haven't had to update mine in the last ten years so it took me some time LOL. But mine is literally maybe 3-4 sentences shy of being two full pages and that was after taking out the clinical duties 😅.

It relatively general with a HINT of where I want to be LOL. A strong suggestion.

Hi all! I am trying to sign back into my application status/submission portal but it will not let me log in! I tried to reset my password but the email doesn't get sent to my email. Wondering if this is something anyone else is facing with the UC Davis portal. Thank you!

Yeah it does that. If you reset it on your phone, then login on your phone, close out the tab on your computer and open a new one and sign in with the new password it should work.

oh thank you for this! I will try :)

Hey guys I ran out of time on the online application. Did we need to input every single work experience on the online application even though everything is already listed on our resume?

Second, if we have extra documents such as letter of recommendations and certifications we attach those additional documents into one big pdf file with our cover letter, resume and unofficial transcripts? Correct?

I don't remember seeing any guidance on that but most places want the last 7-10 years of experience and anywhere relevant to the position you're applying for. I did not include clinical rotations but they are on my résumé.
And correct. Any additional documents are supposed to be in a single attachment.

Thank you very much Unicorn Nurse04. So if we didn't input all our work experiences on there and only listed 1 work experience even though I have more on my resume...do you know if we are automatically disqualified?

we upload the 1 big pdf file attachment under "resume upload" correct?

Oooh I'm not sure if anyone is dq'd for lack of experience or not putting them all down. I haven't seen anything about that.

The big file goes under the résumé section yes.
