UC Davis MEPN 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I'm starting this thread for those interested in applying to UC Davis's Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN), for Summer 2022 entry, to be part of Cohort 7. Hoping this will be a space where everyone can ask questions, connect, give advise and share information. ?

I got in as well!! Congrats everyone ?

Do y'all know how many applicants they are accepting for this cohort? They accepted 48 the past few years but I heard that they've been wanting to increase it to 60. I can't find this info anywhere.

Specializes in Healthcare as an LCSW.

I heard that due to the pandemic, they had moved the first 6months online in a previous cohort.  Are current cohorts back to full time on campus?

Hi Future Nurses! I also received the letter to proceed to the next step of the application process.  Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! I also received the email for the next application steps. Does anyone know if this is a very good sign of getting accepted into the program? Or is this just another round  of selecting applicants? The email made it sound as if we were basically accepted and the supplemental application is very general from what I’ve seen.

Specializes in Educator.

On past threads I think they still reject, waitlist and accept from the secondary applications. But I’m not sure.

Does anyone know if our nursingcas essay will be read in conjunction with the two supplementary essays? I have a feeling it won’t be since the directions said we can reuse our nursingcas essay for the first essay again.  I just wanted to check in on other peoples thoughts as well.

Hello All,

I also received the invitation from UC Davis to apply. It is a bit shocking how it is not a actual acceptance letter as it states that it was very competitive process, and they had many qualified and exceptional students. It just makes no sense to me to weed out students twice. I have been working in healthcare for about 5 years now. I have been working in the ED for about three years now as a tech. I graduated from UC Davis with my bachelors degree, my CUM GPA is a 3.62, and a pre req GPA of a 3.9. I hope all that got invited gets in and best of luck. Lets keep this feed updates. I did email them a few days ago, and they said we will find out if we got accepted by late February or even possibly sooner. I'm still at aw because the supplemental application is so bland and does not really ask for anything new. Just a resume and another essay but other than that, how will they distinguish another round of students if they have already done that with the nursingcas applications.

It is not guaranteed unfortunately.

It will all be in class.

Did anyone else notice that on NursingCas they had changed the deadline from Nov 1st, to Nov 3rd. I wonder why they had done that.. I was kinda shocked..

The NursingCAS site was having issues on the first due to the influx of users. UC Davis extended their deadline due to NursingCAS not being available for many on that day.

Got it. Thank you! I wish we can find out already.

Hey everyone, best of luck!

Has anyone seen any changes to their transcripts/LOR on the status page of the UC Davis grad apps? I figure they’re working on those since it has to be done internally by the School of Nursing ?

Hey Mai,

On my application it says “Transcripts Received” as far as the LOR, they pull all that from the NursingCas application. I didn’t have any changes to my academics since uploading the NursingCas application, so therefore I didn’t really have to upload any transcripts. It’s only if you had changes since submitting your NursingCas Application.

Hey Frankie!

Thanks for letting me know. On NursingCAS, all of my LOR and transcripts are received and verified. I was skeptical of the UC Davis Grad Apps status since they still say "awaiting" on my transcripts but I had no changes to my transcripts since uploading on NursingCAS so I figured those status should change once they upload the transcripts from NursingCAS onto UC Davis grad apps. According to the instructions, this should all be automatic and uploaded internally by the school- hopefully I am right in that interpretation!
